Look here, it got real out there so everyone please stay safe and well and virus free. And stop HOARDING every damn thing in site. You know the family down the street barely making it by? Yea, that’s the one you’re hurting by being a dick and selling toilet paper and hand sanitizer for 10x face value. I don’t mean YOU, dear reader. Unless YOU have done this. Shame, for shame. Anyway, metal will keep you sane if ordered in the house so let’s get to this week’s list. Kansas City’s answer to damn near perfect sludge by way of hard hitting metal, Hyborian, are back and better than ever, Neck of the Woods show that being slightly progressive with a hint of metalcore and a lot of death metal can be a great thing when done right, Sweven — offshoot of Morbus Chron — have a debut album on tap that forces you to hear death metal through a partially acoustic lens, and it’s AMAZEBALLS, and Lucifer still rock in all the right occultish, 70s inspired, metal ways. Stay safe, well, and loaded with metal. Continue reading
Welcome to another Saturday mixtape, friends. Today we bring you a triple dose of Intronaut, a new Cirith Ungol song (which is not something I thought I’d ever get to say), and a host of other jams of various and sundry genres. As always, take a listen below.
Would YOU love a monsterman? That’s the real question.
- Some somber news to start off with. Corrosion of Conformity drummer Reed Mullin passed away at the age of 53. The cause of death has not been revealed, but you can read a statement from the band here.
- There are some more headlining dates for Napalm Death coming in the near future. Those are North American dates in April and May, and support will include WVRM, Tombs, Aborted, The Locust… etc.
- Neck of the Woods have signed on with Pelagic Records for the release of their latest full-length. The Annex Of Ire drops on March 20th. I generally pay close attention to releases under that label, and this will be no different.
- So this is some seriously awesome shit that I totally missed a couple days ago. This is a video for “Burning Sage”, the first single from Irist, whose debut album drops on March 27th via Nuclear Blast. It’ll be titled Order Of The Mind, and is a record you absolutely cannot miss.
“Ein Bier… bitte.”
