Canto: Phil Rudd pleads guilty, GWAR-B-Q lineup announcement and more

acdc phil rudd highway to hell

Late with these tonight—just that kind of day at the office. Won’t waste any time: here’s what we’ve got for Quickies today:

  • Former AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd pleaded guilty to some of the bizarre criminal charges against him—including possession of marijuana and cocaine, and one count of threatening to kill. Safe to say Chris Slade’s probably a good bet to be behind the skins for the foreseeable future.
  • The first wave of bands for this year’s GWAR-B-Q has been announced. Included among the initial few acts? Down, Goatwhore and The Descendents, to name just a few. This might be fun!
  • Speaking of lineup announcements: in a move that is just too perfect for words, Emmure have been confirmed for this year’s Gathering of the Juggalos. This will definitely not be fun!
  • Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett apparently lost his iPhone containing something like 250 different riff ideas. He estimates that he can remember about eight of them. Or, you know, three percent. The lesson here, kids? Back your shit up.
  • Finally, Paradise Lost released a lyric video for the first single from their upcoming album. Here’s “No Hope in Sight” for your listening pleasure:

Nice. The new album, The Plague Within, drops on June 2 via Century Media. Anyway, that’ll do it for us tonight. Check back tomorrow for more!

Keep it heavy,

-Dan
