Burial In The Sky‘s third full length The Consumed Self is an absolute beast of progressive and technical death metal that easily stands out from the crowd with its clarity, punch, and originality. And, it blasts past their last two albums even though both of those were no slouches. It’s been a fun couple of years for Crypt Sermon. A well-received (and terrific) debut album, an appearance at last year’s Maryland Deathfest, an absolutely stellar interpretation of Mayhem‘s “De Mysteriis dom Sathanas” as part of Decibel’s flexi series…the Philadelphia epic doomers have certainly covered some ground.

Throwback Thursday – No Stayer – “Rogue”
Nearly a year ago today, Philadelphia power trio No Stayer released their debut EP, Rogue, on a very limited cassette pressing via über-local, tape-only Philly label Suicide Bong. (Don’t worry, digital copies are available on Bandcamp).
