CANTO: Behemoth, Thulcandra, Insomnium, and More

Behemoth 2018

All kinds of new shit to share today, and work still fucking sucks for those wondering.

  • We’ll start with Behemoth, who have announced the release of In Absentia Dei, the streaming event from last year that was performed in an abandoned church. That will be out on December 17th through Metal Blade, and you an check out the first single, “Evoe”, right now.
  • For those that have the ability to get to Northwest Terror Fest, I recommend that you make that happen, for I cannot. The lineup for 2022 features Panopticon, Ludicra, Repulsion… etc, etc. Honestly, it’s absolutely stacked. Tickets can be acquired here, but I expect them to go quickly.
  • Exodus dropped the second single (with lyric video) from Persona Non Grata, titled “Clickbait”. Just a casual reminder that the new album drops on November 19th through Nuclear Blast.
  • I’m also going to throw in something I completely (and stupidly) missed earlier this week. And that, of course, is the news from Thulcandra. It’s been forever since Ascension Lost, but I’m happy to share that a new album, A Dying Wish, drops on October 29th through Napalm Records. Check out the new track, “Funeral Pyre”, here.
  • We’ll close with the latest video from Insomnium, because that will let me cruise into the weekend on a high note. Below you’ll find the clip for “The Wanderer”, the latest track taken from Argent Moon. That EP is officially out today through Century Media.

“Ein Bier… bitte.”

The Nine Circles Playlist Vol. 46 (6.25.2018)

NINE-CIRCLES_LOGO-Light Background_SQUARE

Nothing like a Monday morning to bring you back to the realization that vacations just don’t last forever. Then it wouldn’t be a vacation. Which means….. completely lost that train of thought and just need coffee plus nobody cares. Anyway, we’re back with Vol. 46 of our weekly playlist and again have some fine specimens to offer up. Last week was so busy with sand, sun and other stuff that honestly it’s good to get back to the metal. Thanks to the fam for keeping things between the lines last week and if you missed any of that great content just go back and take it all in while you listen to what we’ve been digging. Subscribe to our YouTube channel here (if you did you would’ve had a sneak peek early) and we’ll be seeing you throughout the week. What did we miss? What have you been into? We’d love to know so leave them in the comments. Continue reading

Profile: Brian Rush of Mountain Grave

We here at Nine Circles always appreciate blackened death metal. So when Horror Pain Gore Death dropped Mountain Grave on us, we were stoked. Fortunately, Brian Rush (who plays vocals, guitars, bass, keyboards, drums, programming) was able to take some time to join us for a profile. Brian is a sweet guy who is currently very busy with his band as well as running his own fledgling label Pale Magus (where you can pick up a few older Mountain Grave releases). When he’s not swamped with that stuff he even does some audio engineering for video games! Be sure to check out their new album, Massive Structural Collapsehere. Continue reading
