CANTO: Soulfly, Imperial Triumphant, Dismember, and More

The world makes me sad sometimes. But, five more work days until I’m in Wyoming.

  • Soulfly shared a new music video today, and that feels like just as good of a place to start as any. Check out the clip for “Filth Upon Filth” here. That offering is taken from Totem, which is out on August 5th through Nuclear Blast.
  • More from Nuclear Blast, and this is super dope. Dismember have once again joined their ranks, which is a very big deal. To mark the occasion, a fully remastered version of Like An Everflowing Stream has been made available across the streaming platforms. And I cannot wait to find out what comes next.
  • Detroit death thrashers Plague Years dropped a surprise EP today through MNRK Heavy, titled All Will Suffer. Check out the video for “Suffer” at Metal Injection, and find all ordering options for that album here.
  • Is closing with the latest from Imperial Triumphant the obvious thing to do? Yes. And I’m going to do it anyway. Below is the video for “Tower of Glory, City of Shame”. The arrival of Spirit of Ecstasy is coming up quick… and if you needed a reminder that date is July 22nd through Century Media.

CANTO: Suicide Silence, Wayfarer, Death Bells, and More

I am legitimately proud of how much I crammed into this past weekend.

  • We’ll lead off with Suicide Silence, who have announced their return to Century Media Records. They released their first three full-length albums through the label, and it sound like new music is heading our way soon.
  • Hell yeah! An April Wayfarer tour! …That comes nowhere near me. Damnit. Well, if you happen to be on the western side of the United States in a couple months, much sure you carve out time for one of these shows. I’ll be jealous.
  • Death Bells released a new track today called “Passerby”. That release comes right before a handful of live dates, including time at Homesick Fest in California, which you can see here.
  • Looks like Dino Cazares will be joining Soulfly on their upcoming U.S. tour with Short Fuse and 200 Stab Wounds. Check out all the dates, and purchase tickets, here.
  • Yeah, I guess we can close with something symphonic. Check out the new animated video from Belle Morte for “Who are you”. Their debut full-length, Crime of Passion, is out through Wormholedeath.

CANTO: Soulfly, Der Weg einer Freiheit, Hegeroth, and More

Der Weg Einer Freiheit - Noktvrn

I am VERY tired… probably because of the bourbon.

  • Soulfly have announced a 2022 U.S. tour, kicking off on February 7th in Las Vegas and concluding on March 19th in Gallup, New Mexico. They’ll be supported by 200 Stab Wounds on some of those dates, which is awesome. General admission tickets are on sale now.
  • Der Weg einer Freiheit is awesome, and so it their latest album, Noktvrn. Check out this ‘making of’ studio documentary about the album here. And if you still haven’t given it a listen yet, that’s a poor choice, so pick it up here through Season of Mist.
  • Polish black metal project Hegeroth have released a new lyric video from their upcoming new album, Sacra Doctrina. Check out the clip for “Out Of Habit” here, and be sure to pre-order that album off Bandcamp ahead of its January 24th release.
  • We’ll end Monday with a little atmospheric black metal. Check out the new video from Lord Agheros for “The Walls Of Nowhere”. Koinè is out on February 18th through My Kingdom Music.

CANTO: Wolves in the Throne Room, Gama Bomb, Fit For An Autopsy, and More

Last Canto of the week. Tomorrow will find me lakeside with a bunch of idiots I call my friends.

  • Fit For An Autopsy have announced a winter 2022 headlining tour, with support from Enterprise Earth, Ingested, Signs of the Swarm, and Great American Ghost. Those dates kick off January 5th and run through February 12th. Tickets are available here.
  • Watain, a band I don’t really care about but a lot of other people do, have signed on with Nuclear Blast. As of now, they’ve begun the recording process for a new album, which we can expect sometime in early 2022.
  • Soulfly has announced that Fear Factory’s Dino Cazares will be joining them on stage for their upcoming U.S. tour. Tickets for that tour are on sale now here.
  • Marc Rizzo has been busy, and revealed a new project today titled Hail The Horns. Get a sample of what’s to come with this lyric video for “God Of Thunder”, a cover of the Kiss classic. But wait, there’s more! Rizzo also has a new solo ‘best of’ album dropping on September 10th, titled Living Shred Vol. 1. That will be out through Godsize Records.
  • Irish thrash collective Gama Bomb have returned with a new single, “Thunder Over London”. That clip is the title-track from their surprise three-song digital EP, which is set for a release tomorrow (August 6th). That is out through Prosthetic Records.
  • I’m getting more and more excited about Primordial Arcana, the latest album from Wolves in the Throne Room. So we’re going to wrap up today with the new video for “Primal Chasm (Gift of Fire). That album drops on August 20th through Relapse Records.
