CANTO: Wolves in the Throne Room, Gama Bomb, Fit For An Autopsy, and More

Last Canto of the week. Tomorrow will find me lakeside with a bunch of idiots I call my friends.

  • Fit For An Autopsy have announced a winter 2022 headlining tour, with support from Enterprise Earth, Ingested, Signs of the Swarm, and Great American Ghost. Those dates kick off January 5th and run through February 12th. Tickets are available here.
  • Watain, a band I don’t really care about but a lot of other people do, have signed on with Nuclear Blast. As of now, they’ve begun the recording process for a new album, which we can expect sometime in early 2022.
  • Soulfly has announced that Fear Factory’s Dino Cazares will be joining them on stage for their upcoming U.S. tour. Tickets for that tour are on sale now here.
  • Marc Rizzo has been busy, and revealed a new project today titled Hail The Horns. Get a sample of what’s to come with this lyric video for “God Of Thunder”, a cover of the Kiss classic. But wait, there’s more! Rizzo also has a new solo ‘best of’ album dropping on September 10th, titled Living Shred Vol. 1. That will be out through Godsize Records.
  • Irish thrash collective Gama Bomb have returned with a new single, “Thunder Over London”. That clip is the title-track from their surprise three-song digital EP, which is set for a release tomorrow (August 6th). That is out through Prosthetic Records.
  • I’m getting more and more excited about Primordial Arcana, the latest album from Wolves in the Throne Room. So we’re going to wrap up today with the new video for “Primal Chasm (Gift of Fire). That album drops on August 20th through Relapse Records.

CANTO: Rippikoulu, Toxic Holocaust, The Amity Affliction, and More

rippikoulu

I was warned to go home due to an oncoming snow squall. That has failed to occur to this point.

  • Toxic Holocaust are playing a special show in Brooklyn this coming Friday with Sacrifice. Feel free to consider this a kick-off event for their full North American tour with Soulfly, which begins February 3rd.
  • In today’s dose of metalcore (not really a thing), we bring you news from The Amity Affliction. Their next album is out on February 21st through Pure Noise Records. It will be called Everyone Loves You… Once You Leave Them and you can get a taste of the new material from the new track “Soak Me In Bleach” right now.
  • One more tour that I’m excited about. Rippikoulu are gracing North America with their presence this coming April. Only a brief run of dates, but the tour includes Chthe’ilist and Nucleus… so that’s a no-brainer.
  • We’re gonna wrap things up with some Finnish death metal tonight. This is a brutal video from Blåådpalt for the track “God of Razorblade”. Their upcoming album, Sliced To Perfection, is out February 28th via Inverse Records.

CANTO: Soulfly, Devastation On The Nation, The Ghost Inside, and More

rotting christ band

Friday Canto because, well, you should know by now.

  • Let’s start with a tour. Soulfly has announced a North American tour in February and March of next year. They’ll be supported by Toxic Holocaust and X-Method. No idea who that last band is, but this could be fun.
  • Ok, now let’s kick it up a notch. Devastation On The Nation tour 2020 will feature… Borknagar, Rotting Christ, Wolfheart, Abigail Williams, and Imperial TriumphantHoly, ever-loving, crap. That’s a beast, right there.
  • This is from a couple days ago, but is still worth sharing. On the fifth anniversary of their accident, The Ghost Inside released a new video for “Mercy”, which is footage taken from their first show since the crash. Worth watching in every sense of the term.
  • Everyone remember Ævangelist? They have finally re-emerged with a new track called “The Origin and End of All: Pain of the Fallen”. FYI, it’s 18 minutes long. They have an album coming out in early 2020 through Hells Headbangers called Nightmarecatcher.
