I bought a lot of sharp objects today. That is all.

  • Cradle of Filth announced the second leg of their “Cryptoriana” tour. Well, specifically called “Cryptoriana – The Second Coming Of Vice World Tour 2019”. So jump on that if it rolls through your town. Tickets go on sale Friday.
  • The Crown are releasing reissues of Crowned In Terror, Crowned Unholy, and Possessed 13. They’ll be out January 11th for those interested.
  • Oh, this is probably worth mentioning. Interested in owning a piece of black metal history? Well, a fragment of Dead’s skull can be yours for a slim $3,500.00. Yes, you can literally own a piece of the deceased Mayhem vocalist (accompanied by a letter from Euronymous dated in 1991, five days after Dead’s suicide). Crazy and WEIRD.
  • Big news from Astronoid today. Their second, self-titled, full length album will be out February 1st through Blood Music. You can catch them on tour early next year with Between The Buried and Me and Tesseract. For now, however, you can check out a new song called “I Dream In Lines.”

Album Review: The Crown – “Cobra Speed Venom”

There’s something to be said for craftsmanship.  If all the pieces fit together snugly and the whole performs as easy as you expect it to, what’s not to like?  Almost a decade into their second life The Crown have their brand of Swedish death/thrash nailed down like a fine table, and Cobra Speed Venom, while offering nothing new in the way of innovation, is a reliable and sturdy entry in the band’s discography, offering plenty of chugging and that distinct guitar crunch that can only come from the lands of Entombed, Carnage, and In Flames.  Continue reading

The Nine Circles Playlist Vol. 25 (1.15.2018)

NINE-CIRCLES_LOGO-Light Background_SQUARE

Fifteen days into 2018 and I’m already blown away by metal’s new releases and equally blown away by what’s to come. It was a busy weekend that was surrounded by a handful of these albums and by last night it hit me that I hadn’t listened to the same album twice (well, I did listen to that Pillärs album more than once). Yea, 2018 looks to rule, hard. Anyway, I need a weekend to rest from my weekend but bills and food and stuff, tough luck and back to work. Moving on, we’ve got another tasty playlist for you that should help wipe the cobwebs away so hit the play button below and don’t forget to keep up with us on YouTube right here. Continue reading

DSC_0111

1/8/2018. I have to work five days this week. GARBAGE.

  • The Crown have announced a new album, Cobra Speed Venom, will be out March 16th through Metal Blade. You can check out a new track called “Iron Crown” here.
  • The Northwest Terror Fest 2018 lineup is herePanopticon, Falls Of Rauros, False and so many more. This thing is loaded. I can’t go, but holy actual shit.
  • Abbath-less Immortal’s new album is complete! I don’t really know what to expect from it, but it sounds like it’ll be available for us later this year.
  • Yay! Another new track from Tribulation. This one is for “Lady Death”, off of the upcoming new album (obviously).
