Friday Canto because, well, you should know by now.

Let’s start with a tour. Soulfly has announced a North American tour in February and March of next year. They’ll be supported by Toxic Holocaust and X-Method. No idea who that last band is, but this could be fun.
Ok, now let’s kick it up a notch. Devastation On The Nation tour 2020 will feature… Borknagar, Rotting Christ, Wolfheart, Abigail Williams, and Imperial Triumphant. Holy, ever-loving, crap. That’s a beast, right there.
This is from a couple days ago, but is still worth sharing. On the fifth anniversary of their accident, The Ghost Inside released a new video for “Mercy”, which is footage taken from their first show since the crash. Worth watching in every sense of the term.
Everyone remember Ævangelist? They have finally re-emerged with a new track called “The Origin and End of All: Pain of the Fallen”. FYI, it’s 18 minutes long. They have an album coming out in early 2020 through Hells Headbangers called Nightmarecatcher.

Tomorrow will be a long day, so don’t expect a CANTO to surface.

It appears that The Ghost Inside are currently in the studio working on new music. It’s a bit hard to believe that the bus accident was over three years ago now, back in late 2015. So this is awesome news, pumped for these dudes.
Doro has announced a co-headlining tour with Metal Church. Dates are across the United States and run through April and May, if you’re into that kinda thing.
And now for something a little more up my alley. Aborted have also announced the Hell Over North America tour. Those dates are in March and April and support comes in the form of Cryptopsy, Benighted, and Hideous Divinity.
Let’s close with some melodic death metal, because that’s usually a good time. This is the lyric video from Mynas for “Tearing Down The Clouds”. Dead To The Unknown will be out at the end of the week.

Devil You Know have parted ways with John Sankey on drums. It sounds like they may already have a replacement? Looks like big news is coming either way.
Whispers from Mastodon have surfaced. Brent Hinds has revealed that their follow up to Once More ‘Round The Sun might be a double album. Ambitious.
I couldn’t go without sharing this. Hardcore band 25 Ta Life “tried” to play a set without a drummer and it went horribly, horribly wrong. Also, I don’t think they know what the term ‘acoustic set’ means.
Positive news from The Ghost Inside. The recovery progress is continuing along. In fact, the vocalist is out of a cast and the bassist is working Warped Tour with Falling In Reverse.
Spellcaster has released a new single called “Betrayal”. Night Hides The World will be out on July 8th through Prosthetic Records.

New tour announcement! Dark Tranquillity will be hitting the road with Swallow the Sun this coming November. It’s a North American tour. Because otherwise I wouldn’t care.
After their horrific bus crash, The Ghost Inside has set the goal of playing Warped Tour 2017. It seems like a long ways off, but this would still be an impressive showing given everything. I’m pulling for them.
The Eagles of Death Metal have announced a slew of North American dates for this year. The tour runs late April through early September. They’re gonna be busy.
Wouldn’t this be a thing. Just a rumor. But a bit rumor. Might Axl Rose step in for Brian Johnson on AC/DC duties? That would be nuts. I’d pass.

I have a 10pm soccer game. This is not ideal.

Following a brutal bus crash in November, frontman Jonathan Vigil of The Ghost Inside has revealed that some of his injuries included a broken neck, broken ankles, broken teeth, and more. That’s a lot of broken things. But it’s great to hear that he is at least giving us updates again.
More from Behemoth tonight. Frontman Nergal has announced that there may be some post-punk influences on the next record… which apparently is a lot closer than we originally thought.
So if you were waiting anxiously to figure out who the drummer on the upcoming Black Sabbath tour was going to be, it looks like we finally have answer. A rehearsal video confirms that man will be Tommy Clufetos.
I’m late to the game by a day on this one but I still had to share. Food & Beverage Magazine has officially changed the name of the Jack and Coke to ‘The Lemmy’. I support all of this and then some.
Member of Enslaved and Wadruna have teamed up to form Skuggsjá. Here is the debut track titled “Vitkispá”.
