“Hence I will anoint and whisper wholeheartedly the creed of Hades and beyond, as I succumb to inevitable sin. For I cannot enslave myself with imaginary words of salvation. The hypocrisy that surrounds my temple is assisted by pretenders to the throne.”

Quickies: Album sales, 2015 tour announcements, and a new Dark Funeral video

I hope you all enjoyed those Immortal sock-puppets from yesterday. That’s going to be really tough to beat going forward.

The track is called ‘Nail Them To The Cross’. It’s actually pretty solid. No news on an upcoming album in 2015. But I can start with this.

“Ein Bier… bitte.”

Quickies: AWFUL PEOPLE EVERYWHERE (King 810, Insane Clown Posse, etc.)

Another late Quickies. Meh. At least Corey’s back Sunday. Which really means Corey’s back Wednesday because of jet lag and all that nonsense. Suffice it to say, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel and I can see it. Anyway, here’s what we missed in the world of metal today:

Because the album hasn’t hit Spotify yet, this is actually the first I’m hearing from Wovenwar. And it’s actually not bad, for what it is. Hope these guys keep doing what they’re doing now that they’re free of Tim Lambesis’s nonsense. Anyway, that’ll wrap us up for today. Check back tomorrow for more!

Just the Tip: August 5’s New Releases in Brief

It’s new release Tuesday! Here’s what we’ll be covering on this week’s podcast:

August 5, 2014

Eluveitie – Origins (Nuclear Blast)

Nachtmystium – The World We Left Behind (Century Media)

Belphegor – Conjuring the Dead (Nuclear Blast)

Alestorm – Sunset on the Golden Age (Napalm)

I should also mention that this week also sees new releases from a wide range of other bands that we didn’t include for various reasons. We left out new stuff from Bölzer, Entombed A.D., and Wovenwar (because they’re not on Spotify) as well as Skid Row and Godsmack (because they’re Skid Row and Godsmack), so if any of these are of interest to you, check ’em out. They’re out there somewhere.

For now, take a listen to these for yourselves and then check back for our thoughts in Episode 17 later this week!
