Suffocation guitarist Charlie Errigo shared an Instagram post indicating that the band’s new album, Of the Dark Light, will be out “sooner than you think.” Still no actual date confirmed yet for the follow-up to 2013’s Pinnacle of Bedlam.

Quickies: Immortal’s “Battles in the Court,” AC/DC Hits No. 3 and more

We’re late with this one, because…snafu? But anyway, it’s Quickies time! Let’s see what we missed in the metal world today:

Oh, boy. Welp, this may not bode well for new Immortal material: Abbath is in a legal battle with Horgh and Demonaz over the rights to the band’s name. Yeesh.
This past week’s album numbers are in and hey! AC/DC hit No. 3 with sales of a little less than 172,000 for Rock or Bust. Which is all well and good until you remember that their last album–2008’s Black Ice–bowed at No. 1 with 784K in its first week.
Former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee is alleging that Ozzy’s wife/manager Sharon Osbourne scammed him out of royalties during his time with the band in the ’80s. Raise your hand if you’re the slightest bit surprised at these allegations. Anyone?
How’s ex-Judas Priest guitarist K.K. Downing spending his time in retirement? By making perfumes, of course! No, really. I had to check to make sure Axl and the MetalSucks guys weren’t just fucking with us.

Another day, another set of news stories we missed while doing our actual jobs. Sigh… oh well, let’s not waste any time; here’s today’s set of Quickies–let’s see what we missed in the world of metal:

In case you needed another reason why Andrew W.K. is awesome, well…here you go.
Last week’s Billboard charts are out, and kudos to The Haunted, Earth, and Hammerfall for all debuting in the Top 200. They’re joined by something called The Color Morale, which I’m gonna go out on a limb and say I want zero part of.
Thought you were getting a new Clutch album soon? THINK AGAIN, PUNY HUMAN.
Got Satan? Vancouver does. Or they did, until an anatomically correct statue of black metal’s lord and savior was removed.
Today in un-embedable videos we can’t share: a dad video bombs his daughter’s guitar performance to start shredding hilariously.
