Woops. We didn’t have one of these last week, because writing this up managed to completely slip my mind. My sincere apologies about that. Last week was bit of a blur what with all the news items and “theories,” Tool takes and thinkpieces keep coming in by the truck load, and Gatecreeper dropped a ballad off their upcoming album…a ballad. New week and new metal, so let’s do that.
Cerebral Rot go the caveman death metal route (in this case, a very good thing) on their debut, Devourment break a six year silence with their trademark brutal-techy-slammy death metal, Unburnt unleash blackened death metal hell across their four track EP, and Dialith bring unbridled symphonic power on their debut full length. We’ve been treated to so much good music the last six months, and there’s plenty more coming down the pipeline. As always, we here at good old 9C have compiled some of the best of those for you in our weekly mixtape playlist alongside the other good stuff we’ve been jamming. Take a look below and see what suits you.
