CANTO: Greet Death, Astral Tomb, Cerebral Rot, and More

Things are ramping up in so many ways. At least I get to go shooting tonight (with a camera… to clarify).

  • Cerebral Rot and Gravesend have announced a brief run of shows in March near and around my area of the country. The dates run from the 24th through the 27th, with Outer Heaven and Left Cross also along for the ride.
  • Another handful of bands have been added to the 2022 Roadburn lineup, including the likes of The Devil’s Trade, Terzij de Horde, and Deathsomnia. I’m going to attend this one of these years… it just won’t be this year.
  • The debut from Astral Tomb, titled Soulgazer, is set for a March 25th release through Blood Harvest Records. Check out the new track, “Traversing the Wandering Star”, right now. Pre-order it while you’re there as well, obviously.
  • We’ll end Tuesday with the new single and video from Greet Death for “Punishment Existence”. Worth noting, they also have a run of shows coming up in March and April which you should definitely check out.

Amenra
Amenra

Life is sparking again, live shows are popping off left and right, and every week of new metal releases has many something’s for everyone. Things are looking up in those regards, so rejoice…or hail Satan. Or whatever you do these days. This week in new metal uncovers the newest ritual from Amenra, a return to holistically bleak beginnings from Withered, a slappin’ slab of death metal from The Absence, wicked ugly death metal from Cerebral Rot, and the next black/doom/punk chapter from Darkthrone. Oh, you noticed? Yes, there’s five up top and could’ve easily been more but in the context of getting you to the rest of what lies below, I chopped it at cinco. Plenty here for everyone, so go and fire up these band’s bank accounts, pronto. Support what you love with ferocity and sing its praises loud even if no one cares. You do, and that’s all that matters.

Woops.  We didn’t have one of these last week, because writing this up managed to completely slip my mind.  My sincere apologies about that.  Hopefully our cournucopia of riffs will be enough to land me back in your good graces.  Thanks for being patient, and hopefully this gets your Saturday off to a good start.
