CANTO: Imperial Triumphant, Threshold, Endseeker, and More

I have returned from the woods mostly unscathed.

  • Imperial Triumphant are returning to the stage this coming October. They’ll be joined by Pyrrhon for a headlining tour that runs across the United States from October 15th through the 31st. I really, really hope to make it to one of these shows.
  • Switching gears a bit, Ego Kill Talent have announced a new acoustic EP series. The first of three installments, which includes tracks “Our Song”, “Diamonds & Landmines”, and “The Reason”, will drop on July 9th. The release dates for the other two EPs in the Ego Kill Talent: Acoustic project are still to be determined.
  • British prog metallers Threshold have announced their return to the studio. They’ll be recording the follow-up to 2017’s Legends Of The Shire. Most of the details behind the new album are still to come, but we can expect an early 2022 release through Nuclear Blast.
  • We’ll wrap up Tuesday with the new video from Endseeker for “Bloodline”. That track is taken from Mount Carcass, which dropped back in April through Metal Blade. Check it out below.

This week, we’ve got the much requested (seriously like four people picked this one) new single from Zeal and Ardor, some classic Necrophagist, and a usual barrage of death metal from our esteemed Editor in Chief. Take a listen below and kick that (hopefully for most of you) long weekend off.

Endseeker’s Ben Liepelt on “Mount Carcass,” the magic of Dimebag, European metal festivals, and much more!

endseeker band

Mount Carcass is the latest from German death metal merchants Endseeker, and it dives deep into that classic old school sound pioneered by the likes of Entombed, Carnage, and Dismember.  Sure, it’s easy to grab an HM-2 and tune down to Drop B, but Endseeker bring the songwriting chops and vision to not just emulate the old guard but bring their own modern spin to the genre.  The riffs are tight, the groove is firmly in the pockets, and the tone?  Chef’s kiss, my friends.
