Welcome back to another edition of our Saturday morning playlist, guaranteed to wake you up faster than a cup of coffee and a Red Bull combined. Every week we’re bringing you the best of what we’ve been listening to in our spare time, because we know you’re curious about what our staff do with their off-hours. This week, Josh stacks up Cloak and Tribulation side-by-side in a battle of goth-n-roll, Hera combines black metal, melodeath, and Rammstein in a quintessential Hera move, and I throw in a tribute to an artist I’ve long admired who unfortunately passed away this past week, the inimitable Daniel Johnston. Sit down, tune in, and get your weekend started right.
This week has been weird.
- Here’s cool news. Saor have signed on with Season of Mist. This can only lead to great things. It sounds like Andy is already working on new material, so we may not even need to wait that long for those things!
- And now I have lots of new songs to share. First: Cattle Decapitation. “One Day Closer to the End of the World” dropped today. Their 9th studio album, Death Atlas, drops on November 29th.
- How about Enforcer, since they have a massive North American tour with Warbringer coming up anyway? This track is called “Sail On”. Zenith, is available now worldwide on Nuclear Blast.
- Most importantly (to me), is Cult of Luna. The video for “Lay Your Head to Rest” caught my attention today. Oh how I cannot wait for September 20th… that’s when A Dawn to Fear is released. In case you forgot.
“Ein Bier… bitte.”

I mean, I did listen to a ton of music but in all honesty a lot of it was catch up and as a result I probably only heard about 50 albums of stuff from 2015 that I wasn’t working on. That being said, I still heard quite a few great albums and these are the ten that I felt were stellar in 2015. This list is in no particular order
I don’t know what happened to this past weekend, but alas, it’s Monday. I wanted to have some fun with this edition of Visions ov Hell and showcase the Swedish speedy NWOBHM throwback band Enforcer and their recently released video for “Undying Evil.” In watching this video, you’ll instantly want to throw the horns and drink some beer. Which may not be the best way to start a work week, but… let’s dive in anyway. Continue reading
