Hey! A tour! Allegaeon have dates in North America this coming May, where they’ll be joined by The Zenith Passage for a portion of it. Here are the actual details you might need.
New Jersey sludge crew Sunrot are releasing The Unfailing Rope on April 7 through Prosthetic Records, their sophomore effort. Check out the video for “Gutter” right here.
And then we jump to black metal. Spirit Possession are releasing their second album on March 31. Of The Sign… will be available through Profound Lore, and “Second Possession” is available for your streaming pleasure here.
Back to sludge! Treedeon unveiled the lead single and title-track from their new album, New World Hoarder, the video of which you can see here. That album is out on March 17 through Exile On Mainstream.

Back-to-back gnarly work days. I can’t wait for the next 30 years to go by!…?

Since Season of Mist has officially been announced as the Nine Circles Label of the Year for 2022, we’ll bookend this post with stuff out of that camp. First, we have Sortilège. The French heavy metallers just signed a deal with the label, as they prepare for the release of Apocalypso, which we can expect on March 3rd.
Berlin-based sludge trio Treedeon are releasing their third full-length, New World Hoarder, on March 17th through Exile On Mainstream. Check out this brief teaser to get a taste of what’s to come.
Whoa. Previously unreleased Motörhead? Sign me the Hell up. Here’s a brand new clip for “Greedy Bastards”. Bad Magic: Seriously Bad Magic is out on February 24th and can be pre-ordered here.
Closing out, we have the latest single from Ne Obliviscaris, titled “Graal”. The video for that is immediately below, and just a reminder that Exul is set for a March 24th release through Season of Mist.

CANTO: Nite, Dying Fetus, Ingested, and More

I actually feel like I accomplished something today… weird for a Monday.

Couple tours to highlight today. First we have Dying Fetus and Suicide Silence co-headlining a tour with support from Born of Osiris, Aborted, Sanguisugabogg, and more. Those dates run from April 7 through April 30, and tickets go on sale this coming Friday,
And then Nite announced a tour that had me really excited at first… until I realized it was a hilariously termed California world tour that only includes four dates in February. They’ll be supported by Persekutor. I am extremely jealous of anyone that can make one of these dates. Nite rules.
The last tour that emerged today will feature Ingested, supported by Devourment, Extermination Dismemberment, and Organectomy. Those dates start May 4th in Brooklyn, and wrap up a month later in Cambridge. That lineup is going to be bonkers. Tickets can be found at this link.
We’ll move forward with some German sludge. Obelyskkh revealed the video for the title-track from their new album over at The Obelisk. The Ultimate Grace Of God is out on January 27 through Exile On Mainstream Records.
Finally, a new video from Sanhedrin for “Scythian Women” can be found below. That track is taken from Lights On, which dropped last March through Metal Blade.

Bellrope - You Must Relax

I don’t like being told what to do. Unless it has to do with my overall well-being and tenacity, I am not someone who takes authority well. Thus, imagine when, randomly looking through the promo pile, Bellrope’s album name immediately caught my attention. At first, I thought of the title as a mere tongue-in-cheek reference; after all, what does an album know about my headspace at any given time? Well, as it would turn out, You Must Relax not only lives up to its tongue-in-cheek title, but its overall appeal lies within the chaotic yet claustrophobic mix of sludge and noise.
