How are you all holding up? Is the isolation driving you crazy? Do you miss your friends and family? Are you tired of joggers not maintaining social distance? Regardless, I hope you and yours are well during what can only be described as the biggest event any of us will ever live through. And I do hope we live through it. But enough about what’s happening outside, you are here to have some metal drilled directly into your ear holes! So to the point! Continue reading

The Nine Circles Playlist Vol. 123 (4.4.2020)
Welcome to another edition of our Saturday playlist series. This time around, I’m making sure you’re all aware there are three (3) new songs out by my favorite band of all time, Josh brings the new Pyrrhon single, and Ian brings more Aara to the party, who’s newest album I’ve been hotly anticipating. All this, and more, at the link below.

CANTO: Soilwork, Lamb of God, Igorrr, and More
Two days in and I’m already over it. It could be worse I suppose.
- Soilwork recently dropped the new track “Desperado”, and now you can check out a drum playthrough brought to you by Bastian Thusgaard. Oh, I should probably include the link to the track itself. Here it is.
- Huntsmen announced that a record release show will be livestreamed on March 21st, this coming Saturday. The album itself, Mandala of Fear, dropped last Friday through Prosthetic Records.
- Igorrr also dropped a new track today. The title of the song is “Camel Dancefloor”, and it’s taken from the upcoming new album, Spirituality And Distortion. That drops on March 27th through Metal Blade.
- Lamb of God released a new song and video titled “Memento Mori”, which you can check out below. A reminder that the self-titled new album is out on May 8th through Epic Records.

CANTO: Napalm Death, Lordi, Suicide Silence, and More
Another clean sweep!
- Some quick updates from Napalm Death. They have a new 7″ dropping on February 7th through Century Media titled Logic Ravaged By Brute Force. On top of that, they have some more European tour dates on the horizon. And by that I mean next month.
- Huntsmen have also announced a new album. Mandala of Fear will be out March 13th through Prosthetic Records. For now, you can check out a new track called “Ride Out”. They have upcoming March dates supporting the new album as well. Find those on your own.
- I spent way too many hours watching Lordi music videos last night, and I’ve been in a dark place all day because of it. For that, I give you a new lyric video for “Like A Bee To The Honey”. Killection drop on the 31st through AFM Records.
- Suicide Silence dropped a new single and music video today, titled “Two Steps”. Give it a watch below. Become The Hunter is out February 14th via Nuclear Blast.

Initial Descent: February 18 – 24, 2018

So, we’re back again. How was the week? Busy here and at one point I actually got to see the sun for once — made me happy. What’s got you excited this week? Nothing? Well, this week’s list of new metal is longer than the line waiting on summer vacation and hopefully this will lift the spirits. Leading us off this week is grindcore phenoms WAKE with their latest bunch of brutal, Misery Rites. Next up is Dead Empires who added a singer and managed to make their best hardcore / heavy as balls album yet with Designed to Disappear. Rolling on is Insect Ark with their stunning and unique horror soundtrackish / doom metal on Marrow Hymns and closing out the top spots is Huntsmen with American Scrap, an album that really surprised me with how it combines King Dude’s type of dark americana with razor sharp doom metal — trust me, this thing just works. There you have it, the intro is done but we are FAR from finished so keep reading, keep clicking and keep discovering. Continue reading
