CANTO: At The Gates, Otep, Obscura, and More
And all of a sudden it’s summer.
- Otep is up to things. Details have emerged about a new album titled Kult-45 that will be out on July 27th. Upcoming summer tour as well.
- Obscura teaser! I almost forgot about these guys. Looks like we get a new song in its entirety next Tuesday… in line with new album preorders. Woot.
- I don’t really have anything else so here’s Kerry King on The Jim Jeffries Show talking about stuff. The clip is like 5 minutes in-ish, and lasts about 5 seconds.
- Hey, a new At The Gates video. This one is for “Daggers Of Black Haze”. Casual reminder that To Drink From The Night Itself drops May 18th.

CANTO: NEMF Lineup, Bleeding Through, Kerry King, and More
1/23/2018. It’s icing outside.
- It looks like Bleeding Through might be pursuing a comeback. A couple Insta photos are hinting at that, at least.
- While Slayer appears to be calling it quite, Kerry King seems to have other ideas. According to his wife, the show must go on! More Insta photos!
- New England Metal & Hardcore Fest has revealed its initial lineup for 2018. It includes: Morbid Angel, Kamelot, Dying Fetus, and Nile, among many others. It doesn’t include: My attendance. Probably.
- Here’s a new video from Deinonychus called “Buried Under The Frangipanis”. Check it out, if you feel so inclined.

Donuts & CANTO: Corrosion of Conformity, Enslaved, Slayer and more!

Good morning, it’s time to metal. Here’s some news you might have missed from yesterday:

- Leading off, Corrosion of Conformity have just about wrapped up their first album with Pepper Keenan since 2005’s In the Arms of God. Get excited, folks.
CANTO: Live In Flames, plus updates from Winterfylleth, Red Fang, and Ozzy
“Grandma, welcome home. You have been gone for far too long. Is this a dream, are you really back? Let me help you out of the chair. Grandma, let me touch you, let me feel.”
- The future of Slayer could be in question. Kerry King admitted that he wasn’t sure what Tom Araya’s future plans are. No Tom could (and probably should) spell the end of Slayer. They’re already pushing it as is.
- Red Fang just released, like, a lot of info. Most importantly, a tour this fall with Torche and Whores. Their next album, Only Ghosts, will be out October 14th.
- Ozzy’s life story continues to be a dramatic one. The legend himself opened about not the one affair, but many. And now he’s getting involved in some therapy to try and remedy that… situation.
- And now for some really good news. Winterfylleth, who brought one of my favorite albums two years ago, have announced that their fifth studio album, titled The Dark Hereafter, will be out soon. Details… still to come. At least we have artwork.
- Finally, here’s an In Flames clip from their upcoming live album. It’s for “Everything’s Gone”, just in case you were struggling to figure that out on your own.
