Sweden’s Lik have just released their third full length Misanthropic Breed and stand to crush it in the Swedeath scene with a sound that is instantly recognizable yet inherently unique. It’s heavy as hell yet deep in the pocket with fellow countrymen of the same ilk.
Oh hi. Last week’s list was long but this week’s list is longer. Score. Annnnnd, we’re off… The Ocean has yet to release anything less than stellar and this week’s second Phanerozoic chapter is no exception—expect another epic tour-de-force. If you’re in the camp of saying how much Uada sounds like x band or y band, this week’s third full length will change that as they reach far outside the confines of just black metal and come up with all aces. Speaking of great third full lengths, Svalbard return with what might be their finest post-metal, punk, abrasive yet ethereal moment to date, the amount this band has grown in a short time is unbelievable. Bringing the top four to a close, we have yet another third full length from Lik who bring the Swedeath HEAT. So, exceptional top four here but there’s a ton more to seek out immediately below. Happy hunting.
Hello and welcome to another edition of our Saturday morning mixtape series. This week, we’ve got new singles from Six Feet Under, Anaal Nathrakh, and Tombs, plus a whole slew of other favorites across genre lines. I can think of no better way to kick off your long weekend.
I’m very much ready for a beer. Or that vodka pictured above.
Since I’m only moments away from grabbing my first Friday beverage, it makes sense to start with Korpiklaani, who have launched their own vodka – spruce flavored! They also have a live stream event coming in late August.
Infera Bruo dropped some album news today as well. Rites of the Nameless is lined up for an October 16th release through Prosthetic Records, and, as always, this type of announcement always comes with new music. Here is “Mining Shadows For Unlight.”
Oceans Of Slumber shared their new video today for “The Colors of Grace”, a track taken from the upcoming self-titled release. That album drops on September 4th through Century Media Records.
