CANTO: Watain, Dark Funeral, Dawn Of Solace, and More

Oh boy! The start of another work week!

“Ein Bier… bitte.”

CANTO: Osi and the Jupiter, Dawn Of Solace, Body Count, and More

Third consecutive days in the 90s, and I didn’t skip a single run. Dumb!

  • Osi and the Jupiter, one of my favorite discoveries in the last couple of years, have set the release date for their fourth album, Stave. That will be out on August 27th through Eisenwald on CD, vinyl, and cassette formats. Check out the new track and video, “Folk of the Woods”, right now. Now where is my pre-order link???
  • Voyager have announced a new special virtual show which they’ve titled “A Voyage Through Time”. The show will air on Sunday, September 5th, a date that also celebrates the launch of Voyager 1. Tickets can be acquired here, and more details are to follow soon (I hope).
  • Dawn Of Solace, the solo project of gothic death/doom icon Tuomas Saukkonen, has set November 12th as the release date for Flames of Perdition. The third album under that project will be out through Noble Demon, and can be pre-saved/ordered here.
  • Iron Maiden covers are entertaining, so I’ll link in this version of “Flight of Icarus” from White Wizzard. The track features regular touring vocalist Mikey Dean Gremio (ex-Cellador), which is a fun fact of sorts.
  • And we’ll wrap up with the latest fan-created Body Count video for “The Hate Is Real”. That’s the second such version for that track, which is taken from Carnivore (Century Media). Give it a watch below.

CANTO: Mercury Circle, Paladin, Blindfolded and Led to the Woods, and More

Alright, today was a little less stupid than yesterday, and I’ll take it.

  • Paladin has announced the “Shredocalypse” U.S. tour, which will also feature Immortal Guardian and Unleash the Archers for a couple of dates. The tour kicks off on August 17th and runs through September 11th, with more dates to be announced later, apparently.
  • Prosthetic Records have added a new name to their roster. Blindfolded and Led to the Woods have signed on and have already started writing their follow-up to Nightmare Withdrawals, which was self-released earlier this year. Looks like we can expect a new album early(?) in 2022.
  • Chicago-based black metal project Annihilus has announced a new album, Follow A Song From The Sky, which is set for an August 13th release through Federal Prisoner. Pre-order the album here, and keep an eye out for a new track titled “Draw the Beast”, which is floating around somewhere.
  • And we’ll wrap up our Tuesday with Mercury Circle, who have shared a track from their upcoming debut full-length, Killing Moons. That album is set for an October 8th release through Noble Demon, but you can peep the new clip for “Black Mirrors” below. Enjoy.

CANTO: WuW, Autarkh, Oceanhoarse, and More

Today has not been terrible, which is appreciated.

  • Dead Poet Society have announced a livestream event for their debut album, scheduled for March 13th at 3 PM EST. Tickets for the event can be purchased here. The album, -!- (“The Exclamation Album”), drops the day before, and can still be pre-ordered at this location.
  • Oceanhoarse, the heavy metal collective out of Helsinki, have signed on to a worldwide deal with German label Noble Demon. Their currently-unnamed debut through the label should be out in August, but to mark the occasion they released a new single, “One with the Gun”, which can be streamed here.
  • Dutch extreme metal outfit Autarkh have premiered a new song over at Outburn Magazine. “Alignment” is taken from their upcoming new album, Form in Motion, which is scheduled for a March 12th released through Season of Mist. I know we’ve mentioned that one before… I think.
  • Lastly, the new music video from WuW for “En Souvenir Des Jours Que nous N’Aurons Pas Vécus”. The Parisian post-metal duo have their latest album, Rétablir L’Eternité, out now through Prosthetic Records. News coming from all over the spectrum today. Cool.
