As it turns out, Snow-Ice-Mageddon 2022 (part one) wasn’t terrible for us and nowhere near as bad as forecasted. Some didn’t fare as well, and that blows. However, I could’ve easily made some killer atmospheric black metal album covers out of the pictures taken from the storm so any bands looking, I got you covered. As hinted at, the new metal release list is a bit longer this week with several quality offerings for all discerning metal heads. Leading that charge is a trio of equal parts old school and hard hitting death metal from Ectoplasma, Malefic Throne, and Ravenous Death then we’ve got a horror / proto-metal offering from Possessor that’s infectious as hell. Definitely a great way to kick off the last full week of January and don’t forget about the rest that lie in wait below these four. Get some.Continue reading

A whole slew of new tracks to share today. Keeping Friday easy for me!
- Exist have released the second single from their upcoming new album, Egoiista. This one is called “The Lottery” and can be streamed here. That album drops on August 28th through Prosthetic Records.
- The next new track comes from Amaranthe, and it’s called “Strong”. This also comes with a live stream event announcement scheduled for August 16th. Manifest, by the way, is out on October 2nd through Nuclear Blast.
- Possessor dropped a new album announcement, with an accompanying single as well. Damn The Light is set for an October 30th release through APF Records, and here’s a link to “Coffin Fit”, in case you need some horror metal on a Friday night.
- Spirit Adrift, who are riding a wave of momentum right now, have announced that their next album will be out on October 16th through 20 Buck Spin. The album will be titled Enlightened In Eternity, and you can check out the first singe, called “Harmony of the Spheres” immediately below.
“Ein Bier… bitte.”
Still exhausted from the length of our last Retrocution post? I know I am. Well, fortunately for all of us, this post won’t be 700+ words long. After all, this time out, we’re covering a single, rather than a full album. The track in question? The newest Century Media signee, GOST, who returned this past week with the single, “She Lives in Red Light.” Hit the jump and dig in with us… Continue reading
It’s a packed episode this week, starting from an opening jab at everyone’s favorite metal punching bag, Sebastian Bach! From there, a new song round-up, some unfortunate news from Enabler, and new albums from Vardan, Possessor and, for better or worse, Cradle of Filth. (Spoiler alert: Dani Filth desperately needs to call it a day.)
All that and much, much more in Episode 9, so check it out!
