Welcome to the first-ever Monday edition of Initial Descent! That’s right, with new releases now dropping on Fridays across the music industry, there’s no such thing as “new release Tuesday” anymore. (Pour one out!)

This new release global date *is* going to make things a little weird with the podcast, which we still record on Wednesdays, but…we’ll deal with that another time. For now, here are the new albums from last Friday’s crop that we’ll be talking about on this week’s episode!

July 10, 2015

Cradle of Filth – Hammer of the Witches (Nuclear Blast)

Three albums, three different streaming services through which to hear them. As usual, we’ll also have written reviews of other new and upcoming releases here on the site throughout the week, but for now, take a listen and check back later this week for our spoken thoughts on these in Episode 9!

Other New Releases of Note:

  • Between the Buried and Me – Coma Ecliptic (Metal Blade) [full review]
  • Bone Gnawer – Cannibal Crematorium (Pulverised) [full review]
  • Undergang – Døden Læger Alle Sår (Dark Descent) [full review]
  • Animals as Leaders – Animals as Leaders reissue (Prosthetic)
