The inbox has been blowing up today, which means there has to be some good stuff in there.

Dream Unending made waves last year with their debut, Tide Turns Eternal. And now, less than a year from that release, it’s time to prepare for their sophomore effort. Song of Salvation drops on November 11th through 20 Buck Spin, and “Secret Grief” is streaming now.
Fallujah released Empyrean today through Nuclear Blast (it’s quite good), and to mark the occasion they shared a new visualizer for “Mindless Omnipotent Master”. Give it a watch here. And if you need more reading material around that album, here’s Ian’s review.
Rebel Wizard is releasing a compilation vinyl titled The Warning of Three on September 23rd through Prosthetic Records. It will feature a collection of songs originally only released digitally, and pre-orders are up here. You can also check out a visualizer for “Floating Forward with Closed Eyes Filled with Light” here.
To jump into the weekend, we’ll close with the latest from Revocation. The video for “Nihilistic Violence” is below, a track obviously taken from Netherheaven. Their latest album dropped today through Metal Blade.

CANTO: Demiser, Soen, Soulfly, and More

Today was a good mail day. It’s the simple things on a Friday.

South Carolina black-thrashers Demiser have announced a new full-length. Their debut, titled Through The Gate Eternal, will be available on March 12 through Boris Records. They’re streaming a new single over at Cvlt Nation called “Deathstrike”, if you’re interested.
Looks like Soulfly have jumped back into the studio to record the follow up to Ritual, which dropped back in 2018. This would mark their 12th album, and it looks like we may have it before the end of the year via Nuclear Blast.
Rebel Wizard released a live video of “Real happiness in killing enjoyment” performed at the Wizard’s Crypt. That marks the first in a series of video performed in the same location. That was fun, we’ll keep an eye on this going forward.
Soen, definitely a popular project in our Nine Circles ring, released a new video today for “Illusion”. That’s the third single from their fifth studio album, Imperial, which drops next week through Silver Lining Music. Just another highly anticipated release early in the year.

Best of 2020: Chris’s List

If you’re reading this there are two possibilities at play, either of which warrant a hearty congratulations:

It’s the end of the year, and you found the strength, courage and forbearance to get through the infested muck that was 2020. Congratulations! I don’t know what 2021 will bring, but let’s put the future aside for a moment and just revel in survival, and talk about some great music.
It’s an indeterminate time in the future, after the apocalypse, and the collective hive mind has integrated into the data streams and come across this post in a random search string query to ascertain various data points about the distant past. Congratulations! I’m not alive to know what the Time Lords have in mind for the future, but let’s put that aside for a moment and just revel in whatever constitutes life in your existence, and talk about some great music.
