The Black Dahlia Murder and Whitechapel have announced a North American co-headlining tour. Support from Fleshgod Apocalypse, among others. June and July dates. Two of three bands will kick ass.
Ghost have also announced a brief run of shows in the U.S. in May. Nothing near me, sadly. But I might need to take a trip for this one. So of the venues on this run are very, very cool.
Sevendust are up to things as well. Album, tour, etc.

More alcohol and metal! Still one of my favorite combinations. Obituary has partnered with Three Floyds to throw a party! Kind of. The band’s beer, called Hopped in Half, will be served at the Brass Mug in Tampa while the band performs.
Metallica will be releasing a book titled “Back to the Front” that will serve as a story behind the making of Master of Puppets. Could be a fun read. It will be available in September.
How about another throwback today? Faith No More have released “The Jungle” footage, live from 1986, as part of a lead into their reissue of We Care a Lot. Sorry, it’s a slow day.
Looks like I have a tour to mention as well. This fall will bring Sevendust, Crobot, Twelve Foot Ninja, and probably someone else across the United States.

Work in Boston and then a soccer game in Hampton. Wednesdays are kinda brutal.

Original vocalist of AC/DC, Bon Scott, will be getting a bronze statue put up in his hometown of Kirriemuir. The unveiling is currently set for April.
Motley Crue‘s Vince Neil will be appearing on Celebrity Apprentice. I don’t know much about how that shows works, but I kinda hope he loses. I take joy in the failure of others.
Sevendust have announced a headlining tour in the United States with Trivium and Like A Storm. Seems like a weird lineup to me, but what do I know?
Despite recently announcing a new tour that will inevitably make its way to a town near you, Amon Amarth apparently still don’t have a permanent drummer. Not that something like that will ever stop them.

I took Friday off because I felt like it.

Rush drummer Neil Peart has retired from music! I don’t use the exclamation point because I’m excited, but rather because this news dropped like an RKO outta nowhere.
The Grammys are a thing that somebody cares about. Fortunately, after the joke that was last year’s winner (Tenacious D), there are actual metal bands nominated for the Best Metal Performance this year. The bands are Ghost, Lamb of God, August Burns Red, Sevendust, and Slipknot.
Remember that Megadeth tour everyone has been speculating about? Well, we finally have details. They will be hitting the road with Children of Bodom and Suicidal Tendencies beginning in late February.
The horrible news of Scott Weiland‘s passing last Friday have certainly circulated everywhere now. Some new details have emerged from the incident recently and it appears cocaine was in his possession at the time of his passing. Just a depressing, troubling story.
I feel like wrapping this up with something light, so how about Opeth‘s announcement of their own imperial stout? Of course they would have the darkest beer you could possibly brew.

It’s Friday! But the time this post actually runs, I will be at least three beers deep. Because I am a champion.

Darkthrone is the studio as we speak, working on their next album. And it looks like half the album is already recorded? Cool.
Any Sevendust fans out there? Didn’t really think so. Either way, maybe it will benefit you to know that they are currently streaming their upcoming Kill the Flaw, which drops next Friday.
This is kinda cool. Chino Moreno took to the stage with System of a Down to perform “Toxicity” at Rock in Rio. And it went… rather well.
Cryptopsy has a new album dropping on October 30th titled The Book of Suffering, Tome I. In anticipation of the new album, they have released a killer new track called “Detritus.”
Finally, in case anybody wanted to know why we are obsessed with Rammstein‘s live performances, here is one reason:
