I have a feeling this is going to be a long week.
- System of a Down have announced a live stream fundraising event to benefit Artsakh and Armenian soldiers injured in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict last fall. That event takes place on January 30th and will be followed by the premiere of the music video for “Genocidal Humanoidz”.
- Detroit grind collective Shock Narcotic, which features current and former members of the likes of The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Black Dahlia Murder, Battlecross, and more, are readying themselves for a live stream performance on January 29th with Scour. Tickets are on sale now at this location.
- Silver Lake, the solo project of Esa Holopainen (Amorphis), has just signed on with Nuclear Blast. It sounds like he dedicated much of 2020 to recording his first solo album, and I look forward hearing how it all came together. No apparent release date yet.
- Post/doom metal project Crawl Below released a new video today for “Monument”. That’s a track taken from the upcoming new album, 9 Mile Square, which drops on February 12th. Pre-order it here, and check the clip below.
“Ein Bier… bitte.”
