CANTO: Misery Index, Absent In Body, Sundowning, and More

Not going to lie, there’s some cool stuff out there today.

  • Like Misery Index, who announced May 13th as the release date for their next album, Complete Control. That will be out through Century Media, with the first single being unveiled in the coming weeks. They’re also on tour with Origin and Wolf King this coming May, so busy times are ahead.
  • Sundowning, the German post-metal collective, have announced their first album in a decade. In the Light of Defeat, I Cease to Exist will drop on March 25th through Isolation Records. For a glimpse of what’s to come, check out “A Prison, A Cage”, right now.
  • Tool, a band I shockingly haven’t mentioned in awhile, are releasing Opiate2 to mark its 30th anniversary. That will be out through RCA Records on March 1st, and a short film will follow on the 18th. Pre-order that here.
  • Twin Temple entertained us today with the new video for “Let’s Have A Satanic Orgy”. They’re currently on tour with Ghost and Volbeat, if you weren’t aware.
  • And we’ll close with the new track from Absent In Body, titled “Sarin”. The debut album from the project featuring members of Amenra, Neurosis, and Sepultura is set for a March 25th release through Relapse Records. And no, I cannot wait.

CANTO: Iron Maiden, Necronautical, Act of Denial, and More

I have returned from California. What a nice thing that is.

  • Iron Maiden news doesn’t quite excite me like it used to, but that’s quite alright. Their 17th studio album will be another double album (which is… fine, I guess) titled Senjutsu. Pre-orders start on July 21st, with September 3rd set as the release date. Check out the clip for “The Writing On The Wall” if you want. There’s a lot going on in a very good way.
  • Municipal Waste have announced some dates later this year. They’ll be joining Volbeat for a couple nights in early October, as well as a run of shows with Circle Jerks in December. Any of these would be a ton of fun to attend… if they happen to fall in your particular region of the country.
  • Let’s toss in the latest from Act of Denial, titled “Your Dark Desires”. There are some big names in that project, for example Ron Thal Bumblefoot on this track, so I like keeping up. Negative is out on August 13th through Crusaders and Golden Robot Records.
  • We can wrap up with a little bit of black metal. Here is the new video from Necronautical for “Necropsychonautics”. That track is taken from Slain In The Spirit, which is set for an August 20th release through Candlelight and Spinefarm. Pre-order it here.

CANTO: Buildings, Behemoth, Yatra, and More

Behemoth 2018

New week, new me. Ok, that isn’t even remotely true. Metal news!

  • Buildings have announced some east coast tour dates with Bummer. Those dates run in February and March. There isn’t a date all that close to me unfortunately, but this is going to be a super fun tour for those that have the chance to check it out.
  • Yatra are lining up the release of their second album on January 31st. It will be called Blood of the Night and will be released through STB Records. You can stream a new track, titled “Blood Will Flow”, right now.
  • For those previously unaware, Volbeat and Clutch have some upcoming U.S. arena dates in April and May, and The Picturebooks will be in support. This should be a good time.
  • New music videos from Behemoth are always worth sharing. This one is for “Rom 5:8”. I haven’t watched it yet, but knowing the effort the Polish legends put into their video productions, I’m sure it’s as gloriously theatrical as always.

Broken-Hope-Mutilated-and-Assimilated

April 14, 2017

Good morning, it’s time to metal. Here’s some news you might have missed from yesterday:

  • Remember that tidbit about Broken Hope‘s new album we featured a few weeks back? Welp, we’ve officially got cover art for Mutilated and Assimilated. And a track listing and release date (June 23). And by “we,” I mean “the world,” not just us.
