We’re back!

There was just too much going on toward the end of 2018, but the Nine Circles gang is 100% committed to bringing you the best in audio content this year…or least consistent audio this year: I don’t want to promise the farm one episode in!  But back we are with another edition of our Album of the Month series kicking things off with the full-length debut Dreaming in a Dead Language from North Carolina black metal outfit Mo’ynoq. The Nine Circles Audio Thing: Crypteria’s Austin Burleigh and Kevin McCombs on Their New Album and Much More

Nine Circles Audio Thing

Floridian death metal. Those were the three words I was presented with when a friend sent me the Bandcamp link to Crypteria’s recently released full length debut, Crypteria. Based on my roots in this particular branch of death metal I was hooked after just one spin and the infection has grown ever since. So obviously, I had to know more and reached out for some insight and to find out what led them to exploding off the starting line with such a, pardon me here but, banger. Guitarist Austin Burleigh and bassist Kevin McCombs answered the call – the results of which can be heard below. Before you leave, don’t forget to hit the links contained within to grab a copy for yourself but don’t blame me if it rules your listening habits for awhile. Continue reading

allfather band

Back in September, Allfather released their first ‘official’ full length, And All Will Be Desolation, and if you’ve been even the most casual of fan, it’s undeniable how astounding their progression is on this album. If you’ve followed them since the beginning (No gods. No masters.) as I have, you must have been as blown away as was I. Everything about their doom by way of hardcore by way of death metal by way of sludge is thicker and heavier than anything they’ve done leading up to this, but it’s the way they’ve grown in the songwriting department that shines the most. I’ve been speaking with vocalist Tom Ballard over messages and emails for some time now but recently had the chance to chat with him about the new album, fan interactions and so much more. It was great, after all this time, to finally have a one on one with him so head inside to hear how it went. Continue reading
