The 448th edition of the Nine Circles Playlist has watched the Mastodon video three times now, and man the loss of Brent Hinds hit all over again. I have no idea if one of m favorites will ever get back the magic they had, but I’m going to continue to root, and listen. So yes – we’re kicking the playlist off with one of my favorite Hinds guitar moments, and then some new Anthrax and Eric Gillete, a killer musician usually in the wings of Neal Morse and his various bands. But solo? A guitar beast.

Meanwhile the 9C staff Bring the Noize with plenty of heavy, including new Chat Pile, Devil Master, the inevitable return of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Bring Me the Horizon, Fen, and maybe, just maybe, the latest single from Carl Skildum’s Skjolden.
