CANTO: Shadows Fall, Alice Cooper, Sonata Arctica, and More

I’m ready for another adventure… which is basically my perpetual state of existence these days.

  • Since I’m seriously craving a beer right about now, let’s start with the latest from Shadows Fall. They’ve launched their own beer, named the “Destroyer of Sense” New England pale ale, in partnership with Tin Bridge Brewing Company. It will be available in cans at their one-off show at the Palladium in Worcester on December 18th.
  • Alice Cooper has quite the run of shows coming up next year. The latest announcement includes a tour with Buckcherry (on most dates), kicking off after the Monsters of Rock Cruise. Those dates covering March 18th through April 23rd.
  • And then we have a new Pelagic Records signing to mention. Post rock/neoclassical project BRUIT have announced a vinyl and CD release of The Machine is burning and now everyone knows it could happen again through the label, with pre-orders expected sometime in January.
  • Nowegian black metal project Minneriket are releasing a new album, Gjennom meg går ingen til hvile, independently on January 21st. Preview and pre-order that one through Bandcamp right here. I felt the need to add some black metal to the pile today, apparently.
  • Sonata Arctica released a new lyric video for “The Rest Of The Sun Belongs To Me”, a track taken from Acoustic Adventures – Volume One. Give it a watch below, and pre-order the album here. That drops on January 21st through Atomic Fire Records.

CANTO: The Halo Effect, Black Tusk, Alice Cooper, and More

Today wasn’t exactly a fun one? But at least it’s almost over.

  • The Halo Effect, a new project featuring previous members of In Flames in Niclas Engelin, Jesper Strömblad, Peter Iwers, Daniel Svensson, as well as Mikael Stanne currently of Dark Tranquillity, have signed on with Nuclear Blast. The first single, “Shadowminds”, is coming around on November 9th, so be sure to pre-save that one here.
  • Black Tusk have announced a relatively brief run of shows in the U.S. later this month and into December. They’ll be joined by Restless Spirit, and the party begins on November 26th in Savannah as part of Two Tides Brewing Metal Fest (without Restless Spirit), and ends on December 6th in Raleigh.
  • Alice Cooper has also announced some new winter tour dates. Those take place in January and February, starting on the 28th in Cincinnati. Pre-sale starts tomorrow, and tickets go on sale to the general public this coming Friday, November 5th.
  • We’ve got a new one coming from the Iron Bonehead world. The debut from Furis Ignis, titled Decapitate the Aging World, is slated for a January 14th release, and you can stream “Witness The Nightsky Palpitating To The Beat Of Premonition” right now.
  • We’ll close out Monday with a new video from Opera Diabolicus, for “Bring Out Your Dead”. That’s taken from Death on a Pale Horse, which drops on November 26th through Season of Mist.

CANTO: Alice Cooper, Vouna, Auðn, and More

Not a bad start to a fresh work week.

  • And all of a sudden, tour alerts are all over the place. We’ll start this week with the news that In This Moment have announced a tour with Black Veil Brides, this September through November. Tickets go on sale this coming Friday, and can be purchased here.
  • The next tour (out of two, I promise) we’ll announce features Alice Cooper, with special guest Ace Frehley. Those dates are in September and October of this year, with those tickets also going on sale this coming Friday. Here’s the purchase link. Side note, I should probably check out Detroit Stories at same point because… duh.
  • Vouna, the project featuring multi-instrumentalist Yianna Bekris, has nailed down July 16th as the release date for Atropos. The new album will be out through Profound Lore, and the digital album can be pre-ordered at this location. Check out the first single, “Highest Mountain”, while you’re over there.
  • This was one of those rare days where I knew what video I wanted to close without having to think about it. This is the latest clip from Auðn for “Vökudraumsins fangi”, the title-track from last year’s album, which was released through Season of Mist.

A Tuesday that feels like Monday even though it truly is a Tuesday is a very weird mental situation.
