The work of goth/punk band Samhain may be forever overshadowed by singer Glenn Danzig’s previous and subsequent projects, the Misfits and Danzig. However, it is not for lack of influence, with its prodigious, unconfined sound and horror aesthetics giving early shape to a legion of styles. We All Want Our Time In Hell Samhain Tribute, a new compilation album by a range of emerging and veteran punk, metal and noise bands, is deeply grounded in that history, with a glance to the future.     • Leading off, Wolves in the Throne Room have announced a new album, titled Thrice Woven. The album will drop September 22 via the band’s own label, Artemisia Records, and features a guest spot from Neurosis’ Steve Von Till. Sounds better than Celestite already!

Good morning, it’s time to metal. Here’s some news you might have missed from over the weekend:

    • As usual, a whole bunch of bands dropped new albums on Friday, including Night Demon and Artificial Brain. For a full breakdown, check out Josh’s recap.
    • Enslaved are hard at work on what will be their 14th studio album, which guitarist Ivar Bjørnson says will take “more risks than ever before” and a whole bunch of other standard-issue PR speak. Either way, color us excited!
