Trying to get back in a groove with this shit.

Baroness have announced some acoustic record store performances. This is super cool and one of them happens to be kinda close to me. I’m in. Solid announcement following up their tour with Deafheaven.
You see this shit about Mgła? A bunch of dirt was dug up about their ties to NSBM, and as a result some shows have been canceled. Raise your hand if you’ve heard this before. No way to dispute these connections, however, so attempting legal action against those bringing these claims up might be an… exercise in futility. Pun aside, I’m done with this band. Pretty easy choice there.
In a bit of lighter news, Adam Jones is out there teasing some new Tool riffage, while Maynard is teasing the inclusion on new material at upcoming shows. What a time to be alive.
Here’s a new track from Tanith called “Under the Stars”. In Another Time will be out on May 24th.

Good morning, it’s time to metal. Here’s some news you might have missed from yesterday:

- Leading off, Septicflesh have announced their new album, Codex Omega, which will drop September 1 via Prosthetic Records. You can check out the new single, “Dante’s Inferno,” here. If you like Septicflesh, you should do that. If you don’t, this probably won’t change your mind. But good for them either way.

Goatwhore is back to work on a new album. They’re are in the studio. They are doing the musics. How else do you want me to phrase this?
So Nails seemed to disappear after that neat album they wrote. Don’t we all remember that? Well, I guess they are actually work on stuff and planning on playing live soon.
So, um, the new Puscifer video for “The Arsonist” is fairly entertaining. Let’s all watch Maynard take on Trumpzilla, yes?
I don’t feel like trying today so here’s what Gojira‘s Mario Duplantier does on Instagram. It’s very entertaining.
In Flames dropped another new track. Here is “Through My Eyes.”

Remember that time everyone thought Tool was primed to release a massive double album or something? Well, one Maynard James Keenan responded in a rather expected way. Don’t get your hopes up, people.
Some fun stuff from Slayer. Following up Repentless, their latest album that some of you may have heard, they are set to release a three-piece comic book series through Dark Horse. Some potentially fun stuff from Slayer.
For those living under a rock, the RNC was last night. If you ignored it as much as I did, you may have also missed the fact that Prophets of Rage played a rally in Cleveland.
Marilyn Manson has revealed details about his next album. Say 10 (get it?) will be out on Valentine’s Day 2017. He’s just so clever. He put on a good show at Chicago Open Air, so I’m not complaining.
Megadeth released a music video for “Post American World” (something we may be quickly approaching). The video is below and this is actually the first song from Dystopia I’ve listened to.

CANTO: Updates from Dimmu Borgir, Despised Icon, and Metalocalypse (maybe)

It seems like Dimmu Borgir went from mainstream to afterthought in the black metal world over the last few years. Well, 2016 may see a resurgence as the Norwegians appear primed to drop new music in the near future.
Might Metalocalypse be a thing again? While Brendan Small has revealed that is has been working on something over the last month, we’re not sure what that is. But rumors are circling that Dethklok may be back.
Despised Icon are also back with big news today. First, they signed on with Nuclear Blast. Secondly, they announced a new album, Beast, will be dropping sometime this summer.
Maynard James Keenan, vocalist of Tool and other stuff, announced the title and release date for his memoir. A Perfect Union of Contrary Things will be published on November 8th.
Fear Factory dropped a new album last year I think. Here’s a new video for “Expiration Date.”
