Well…that was a week. And, we’re still here. Crazy right? Whatever. Today’s new release list is a bit longer than the last couple, but we’re getting a slow start to the ‘heaters’ that come through and melt your face off. Bit much? Yes, it is, but who cares. However, there are a few that breach the category. Right, let’s kick it off with dark, sci-fi death metal from Fractal Generator, horror inspired punk/doom from Bloody Hammers who know it’s always the right time for horror, and some gory brutal death from Infected Humans. These three bring the heat, but do peruse the rest below. See you here next week.Continue reading
Finally, It’s Halloween week. Not sure what you’ll be doing but as long as it involves horror movies and metal, all will be right in the world for at least a day. Since metal is in the equation, we have a looooong list for this week. So long, in fact, it seems everyone waited for Halloween to push out an album. Good news for us. Anyway, Sarcator open the pit of flayed bodies with their Swedeaththrash and holy smokes is this so crazy good for such a young band—I mean, age 16-21. All that to say, jump on this immediately. And, the mighty Carcass return for a quick hitter EP but quick hitter doesn’t mean slack on quality, it’s Carcass so you know what you’re getting. Stälker put both a classic metal feel and tons of demonspeed in their effort and those vocals? GLORIOUS. Rounding out the top spots is Wolverine who are back with their lush but impressive progressive metal and in audio visual format which is nothing short of amazing so please get your ears, and eyes, on this come Saturday. No matter what you do with Halloween this year, you’ll have plenty of metal to take along for the ride. Just don’t forget to load up on blood and gore as well.Continue reading

I’m kicking this off with a plug, because I can. Head over to Magnetic Eye’s Bandcamp page and preorder the upcoming Dirt [Redux]. I’m generally not a fan of cover albums or reimagining type of deals but this one is all that and a bag of chips. Alrighty then, plug over and time to showcase all the new metals this week, YAY. It’s only been three years since Incantation’s last album but with this week’s release of their 12th full length the wait is well worth it and even though they’ve got nothing to prove they still show their supremacy in a stellar year for death metal. Speaking of stellar death metal, Cytotoxin offer up their fourth full length of Chernobyl inspired putridity, Unleash the Archers continue to put the “power” in power metal, and Volcanova rip stoner metal a new asshole. As always, there’s a ton more to dig into so get busy. Continue reading
