Just in case anybody forgot that Wintersun was a thing, they’ll be in the United States this Fall. Their first tour here in five years. Which, interestingly enough, is about as long as it’s been since I last paid attention to them.
Good morning, it’s time to metal. Here’s some news you might have missed from yesterday:
Leading off, Eluveitie — or as some may know them “Chrigel Glanzmann’s Quest to Lose as Many Band Members as Humanly Possible” — has announced the long-awaited sequel to the acoustic Evocation album. The second installment, Evocation II: Pantheon, drops August 18 on Nuclear Blast, about six years after everyone stopped caring.
Another late Quickies. Meh. At least Corey’s back Sunday. Which really means Corey’s back Wednesday because of jet lag and all that nonsense. Suffice it to say, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel and I can see it. Anyway, here’s what we missed in the world of metal today:
Oh look, it’s another example of King 810 not actually being all that metal, but yes actually being questionable people! In today’s bit, someone in the band maybe made up parts of his biographical details! Good lord this band sucks hard.
And thanks to another Constitutional amendment-length Facebook post from Wintersun‘s Jari Mäenpää, my sympathy for the guy has officially evaporated. (Pro-tip: read the full-length Lair of the Bastard post that’s linked to from the MetalSucks article. It’s kind of amazing.)
I hate devoting any extra attention to anything Insane Clown Posse-related, but goddammit. Know how people like to rag on Juggalos? Shit like this is why.
Because the album hasn’t hit Spotify yet, this is actually the first I’m hearing fromWovenwar. And it’s actually not bad, for what it is. Hope these guys keep doing what they’re doing now that they’re free of Tim Lambesis’s nonsense. Anyway, that’ll wrap us up for today. Check back tomorrow for more!
FRIDAY AT LAST. I’m excited for this. I don’t know about you lot, but for me, this was one of those weeks that both went by really quickly and drained the hell out of me. As a result, you’ll notice that I couldn’t get Episode 14 online today–that’ll come tomorrow morning, along with this week’s Dump. (No, not that kind…but okay, maybe I will have one of that kind, too, though.) Anyway, before I start making even less sense than I already am, it’s time for Quickies! Here’s what we missed today:
The bad news? You can gather exactly NOTHING from that clip. The good news? It’s only 15 seconds long. And with that, I’m off to pass out. Because I’m old and my brain is turned off for now. Check back tomorrow for Episode 14!
