Concert Review: Slayer, Lamb of God, Behemoth, 7.25.2017
When it was announced that Slayer was headlining a run of shows this summer with support from Lamb of God and Behemoth, I made the claim that it was going to be the premier metal tour of the summer. I understand that there are other notable tours kicking around this time of year (Summer’s Laughter, for one). But how often does a tour feature the three-headed monster that this one does? (Pardon the lame reference to the tour poster). Each band is quintessential to the metal world in their own way. We have Slayer, the legends of death metal that they are. The hugely popular thrash groove intensity of Lamb of God. And Behemoth, who I would consider the very pinnacle (in terms of success) of present day extreme metal. Donuts & CANTO: Vattnet, Nails, Slayer and more!

Good morning, it’s time to metal. Even though our exclusive stream might have beaten us to the punch. Whoops. Anyway, here’s some news you might have missed from yesterday:

- Leading off, Vattnet appear to have scrubbed their Instagram, changed their handle (it’s now @vattnetband) and are teasing something for this Friday. In related news, I need to go change my pants.
CANTO: Live In Flames, plus updates from Winterfylleth, Red Fang, and Ozzy
“Grandma, welcome home. You have been gone for far too long. Is this a dream, are you really back? Let me help you out of the chair. Grandma, let me touch you, let me feel.”
- The future of Slayer could be in question. Kerry King admitted that he wasn’t sure what Tom Araya’s future plans are. No Tom could (and probably should) spell the end of Slayer. They’re already pushing it as is.
- Red Fang just released, like, a lot of info. Most importantly, a tour this fall with Torche and Whores. Their next album, Only Ghosts, will be out October 14th.
- Ozzy’s life story continues to be a dramatic one. The legend himself opened about not the one affair, but many. And now he’s getting involved in some therapy to try and remedy that… situation.
- And now for some really good news. Winterfylleth, who brought one of my favorite albums two years ago, have announced that their fifth studio album, titled The Dark Hereafter, will be out soon. Details… still to come. At least we have artwork.
- Finally, here’s an In Flames clip from their upcoming live album. It’s for “Everything’s Gone”, just in case you were struggling to figure that out on your own.

CANTO: Gorguts tour, Revocation video, Ozzy’s marriage, and more
“I’m the dark warrior, presented in flames. Carried on the hellish wings of fire I discover the deepest desires, feel delight. I destroy all the god’s laws. I am almighty, immortal power.”
- Kicking off your Monday evening with a tour. Gorguts will be running through a large portion of North America with Intronaut and Brain Tentacles. I don’t know about you, but is one I don’t plan to miss.
- What the hell just happened to Nails? Right after destroying everybody with their latest album, You Will Never Be One of Us, they… disappeared? Even I think this is a bit bizarre.
- Things not to do: Spit on Tom Araya. Mostly because duh. Don’t be a dick. But he will also get you kicked out of a Slayer show. I mean, I guess you didn’t actually support the band anyway… so wait… what?
- Some interesting news from Ozzy Osbourne. It looks like his marriage with Sharon is back on track. So that’s nice. Or something.
- Revocation release a new video for “Arbiters of the Apocalypse”, which you can check out below.
