CURSED IMAGERY: The Week in Album Art (August 2, 2019)

cursed imagery

We’ve got a lighter week for ridiculous album art this week. And that, honestly, is a good thing for now; I’m simultaneously working on a new Retrocution post and struggling to find the right words for it. Dumb jokes about album covers come surprisingly easy — the bands have done most of the leg work for you! Writing an actual review? Woof. Tread lightly, kids. Anyway, we’ll still have some fun with this stuff, so let’s jump in!

So, this is fun. You’re actually reading Draft No. 2 of this post, because thanks to a faulty plug connection, my laptop just turned off on me about 80% through my first draft — a draft that WordPress had, for whatever reason, failed to auto-save at any point. So, said entire draft got wiped. Technology is just wonderful, isn’t it. Anyway, here are our album art highlights for this week:

CURSED IMAGERY: The Week in Album Art (July 19, 2019)

I’m starting to wonder if this segment might be better with a monthly frequency. Like, there’s usually a decent selection of solid pieces of album artwork from week to week, and this week is no exception. But, the truly ridiculous pieces — the ones this segment was, ostensibly, created to highlight — seem to be fewer and farther between all the time. Little bit late to the party on this one — it’s 1:30 in the morning as I write this — but I’ll take comfort in the fact that it’s actually a relatively slow week for album art absurdity. Don’t get me wrong; there are some definite wonders to be had, but on the whole? Pretty quiet! So, let’s not waste any more time on this preview. Jump on in and check out this week’s highlights below!

CURSED IMAGERY: The Week in Album Art (June 28, 2019)

Four weeks in a row? Holy shit, guys. It looks like I can haz consistency after all! Well, don’t get hopes up too high because this week’s post is going to be a relatively light one. I’m not getting lazy on you; rather, questionable album art is getting lazy on me. It felt like a solid 85 percent of the releases on this week’s list actually have pretty solid covers. Including the ones featured in this post! (I’ll be straight with you, I’m kinda grasping at straws even for those.)

But, dammit, the #content beast must be fed, so feed it I will. You can peep this week’s selections after the jump!
