Heavy Tuesday, people! Welcome to the inaugural edition of Quickies! Here, every Monday through Thursday, we’ll compile a bunch of cool junk other people covered during the day that we couldn’t. Because, well…this isn’t our full-time job. Yet.

So! Without further delay, here are a few quick stories that I found either relevant or amusing or both…

• I’m going to buy Mastodon’s Once More ‘Round the Sun for the artwork specifically. And ideally, it will inspire the way at least one person paints their kid’s bedroom walls.
• WrestleMania XXXI will feature Frankie Palmeri and Metal Injection as the main event. Venom folks, venom.
• James Kottak, drummer for Scorpions, is the latest to drop some racist remarks in the wrong place at the wrong time.
• Lars Ulrich supports beer as mediocre as Metallica’s most recent music.
• And finally, I leave you with a true Norwegian black metal sheep…
