Last week was a week. Stuff happened or didn’t, things fell apart or didn’t, story of our lives. But, stuff is happening right here with new metal and we’ve a lot to cover so let’s do that.
On the heels of a debut that I said “has the power to split the extreme death metal genre wide open,” Vitriol is back with their debut full length and trust me when I say that the future of extreme death metal is in great hands. For all the well-earned coverage and pieces on Mizmor over the last few years, this week’s new offering might just be their best yet – syrupy black metal and emotionally draining doom combine to perfection here. Lochness burst onto the heavy as lead doom yet fuzzy and psychedelic scene with their debut 4-track EP and it’s a banger, be sure to get on that asap. Sewing up the top slots this week is Vokonis who are yet another band this week releasing their best effort to date, progressive and psychedelic rub shoulders with forward looking doom and heavy metal and it’s a sweet, sweet sound. So, the only thing left to do is get in there and grab some of this week’s blazing inferno.
