Hey folks, today’s Quickies are coming in a bit late, so let’s not waste any time. Here’s some of the stuff we missed today:
- Planning to pick up Opeth’s new album, Pale Communion, on June 17? Well, hope you weren’t too excited about it; it’s now been pushed back to August 26.
- Cynic’s Paul Masvidal and Sean Reinert came out publicly as homosexuals in a pretty cool Los Angeles Times profile. I don’t even have anything sarcastic to say here–hat’s off and congratulations to both.
- According to Justin Broadrick, Godflesh has both an EP and a full-length record in the works for later this year.
- On today’s episode of “Should We REALLY Care About This?” Glenn Danzig is suing Jerry Only over the rights to (and proceeds from) the iconic Misfits logo. (Call me crazy, but I’m leaning toward “no, we shouldn’t care” here)
- And finally, I didn’t know I could hate anything in life as much as I hate Falling In Reverse’s cover of “Gangsta’s Paradise.”
Guys. Guys. Guys. I’m pretty sure Emmure is no longer my least favorite band in existence. Not positive, but…yeesh.
