Another edition of Throwback Thursday, which means it’s time for us to go back and revisit some old shit that we find awesome, hilarious, or both. (“Awelarious?”) Anyway, we’ve got a real gem for y’all this week. I’ll spare you an introduction and let you get right into it. For this week’s edition, let’s take a look back at Bret Michaels’ Tony Awards stage fail during Poison’s performance at the ceremony in 2009:

I don’t intend this post (solely) as a knock on Poison or Michaels. As you may remember from our previous podcast, The Bracket, we don’t actually hate Mr. Michaels that much. That, however, doesn’t prevent me from finding this stage collapse absolutely hilarious, because it would have been hilarious for ANYONE. This is straight out of a Looney Tunes cartoon.

Now I’d be remiss not to mention that the aftermath of this was actually kind of ugly–Michaels suffered a brain hemorrhage and ended up suing CBS and the Tony Awards for damages. But still…this is all the lols. Ultimately, the only question I have is why it had to happen to Michaels and not C.C. DeVille. Either way, that’s your #tbt for the week!
