Afternoon, everyone. With tomorrow being the 4th of July–you know, a national holiday and all–this edition of Quickies will be our last for the week. Don’t worry; we’ll still be posting Episode 12 on schedule, and maybe even coming at you with a Sunday Side-Splitter if you play your cards right, but Friday Quickies? When everyone’s going to be out grilling? Sorry, no. That’s not going to be a thing that happens. So with that said, here’s what we missed in the world of metal today!
- Origin’s new album is streaming in full. If you don’t head over and check it out, you may be an idiot.
- According to Corey Taylor, Slipknot’s new album is 98 percent finished. No word on who will be drumming on it now that Joey Jordison has left the band. Or whether touring bassist Donnie Steele will be involved. Or, if he is involved, whether he’ll be allowed to come out from behind the drum kit.
- A day after…oh, you know…faking their lead singer’s abduction for publicity, Upon a Burning Body released a new single. Fuck this band so hard. I hope nobody buys it.
- Former Machine Head bassist Adam Duce settled his lawsuit with the band out of court. Sad to see things get so ugly with this.
- And finally, a video called “Metal Construction.” Check it:
Just try watching that without laughing. Just try. You won’t be able to. Anyway, happy 4th of July to everyone and check back for more over the weekend!
