I really, really like these shortened weeks I’ve given myself before the end of the year. News time!

• Cannibal Corpse is hitting the road again. This time with Obituary, Cryptopsy, and Abysmal Dawn. This tour is absolutely massive. It will kick off in early February and hit most of the United States.
• It was announced recently that an Emperor box set would be released in the coming months (preorders available 12/9). You can find a rundown everything it will contain over at Metal Injection.
• Trivium don’t like hanging onto drummers very long. They announced today that their drummer going forward would be Paul Wandtke. Regardless, the band is taking a break while Matt Heafy goes through some surgery to fix his broken nose.
• The Eagles of Death Metal returned to Paris and played alongside U2 earlier this week. During this trip, the group also returned to Le Bataclan to pay tributes to the events of last month.
• Finally, in the spirit of the season, let’s close things out with a black metal rendition of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You”.
