Pissed off yet? Give Fucking Invincible two minutes of your time (more like seven) and they will show you what pissed off is. The Providence, Rhode Island based purveyors of power violence are about as angry as they come. Their sound is also classic providence punk and hardcore. If the title didn’t say it all, I Hate Myself and Want You to Die, is an introspectively angry piece of art that slams eight songs into your cranium in just under seven minutes
When the songs get longer, think one minute and twenty-two seconds, they even include breakdowns that will make forty year old men and women kick at their chairs and punch through doors. The band is comprised of current/former members of Dropdead, Daughters, Soul Control and Sweet Jesus. That should give you an idea of how spastic Fucking Invincible is attempting to be but if it doesn’t then please trust me: the band is out of their fucking minds. And that’s a great thing when talking about power violence. Especially a band using a clever title such as I Hate Myself and Want You to Die— as if the death of someone else could all of a sudden make us lovable to ourselves.
At any rate, it’s a short little spin, won’t take more than seven minutes of your life, and you should emerge on the other side of that seven minutes drenched in sweat and blood and ready to take on any challenge that lays ahead of you. The world is a very complex place and punk musicians don’t try to make it less complicated, they do try to focus our anger though. So, spend the next seven minutes of your life getting angry about the right things.
