Good morning and good Monday. What’s that? Mondays suck? Nah, as always, we got you covered. Metal in your ears and in your eyes but get your own coffee. Now then, for this Visions ov Hell we are taking a look at “Relentless” from Exmortus. This track is taken from their latest release Ride Forth. The video is a bit different than the typical format but will immerse you in the crowd and on the stage. So for the sake of a few minutes of fun let’s dive in.
Exmortus have been around since 2002 and have four full lengths of full-on power-thrash metal under their belts. Whenever I need a pick me up this band has yet to let me down. Their adrenaline filled songs often make me wish I was in a small venue right up front and in between the loudspeakers, losing my hearing. Alright so you get the picture, now on to the video at hand.
“Relentless” starts off innocently enough with an operatic piano. Weird right? Even weirder is the visual of the band in a live setting rocking out while this piano playing suggests otherwise. It’s like a kung fu movie where the words don’t match the lips. It doesn’t last long and we are right in the middle of crunchy guitars and galloping percussion. Letter perfect Exmortus. Bonus points for the old school, full makeup Kiss t-shirts.
I mentioned different before and as you’ll notice this is a live setting video and not your typical ‘hey lets throw some stuff in there and call it a video’ type of deal. The filming is of extremely good quality and does a great job of capturing each band member in action. All the hair, all the smiles and even a camera mounted to the end of the guitar fret, GoPro style.
The band rips through the track with an outstanding performance and enough solos to make the guitar gods smile. I don’t know about you but this is just too much fun for a Monday so can we have a weekend do-over please? Anyway, scroll down and immerse yourself in the beast that is “Relentless”.
