May 30, 2017

Good morning, it’s time to metal. Hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day weekend, whether you were MDF-ing or otherwise. Here’s some news you might have missed from the last couple of days:

    • Leading off, Incantation have announced the name and release date for their new album. The new one’s called Profane Nexus, and drops August 11 on Relapse. Get excited, kiddies!

    • Next up, organizers of the Wacken Open Air festival revealed they’re installing a pipeline to pump beer underneath the festival grounds and eliminate both keg changes and the associated wait times. It’s always good when a metal festival has a better grasp of infrastructure investment than the United States government, isn’t it?
    • Guns ‘n’ Roses added a whole bunch of U.S. dates to their existing tour itinerary for this fall. They’ve also revealed opening acts for their summer trek, with artists ranging from Deftones to Sturgill Simpson, so…cool?
    • As we told you last week, Rigor Mortis / Warbeast frontman Bruce Corbitt has been forced to retire from performing as he battles esophageal cancer. Since then, a crowdfunding campaign has been launched to help cover his medical expenses. If you’d like to donate, you can do so here.
  • And finally, here’s a video for Broken Hope‘s new tune, “The Carrion Eaters”:

The band’s new album, Mutilated and Assimilated, comes out June 23 via Century Media. Anyway, that’ll do it for now — check back this time tomorrow for our next edition!

Keep it heavy,
Dan
