October is here. Leaves are dying, the air is cooling, and everyone’s watching horror, whether it’s on your favorite streaming service (Shudder for me) or on your favorite news service. New music has come back with a vengeance, and because it turned out that the second half was much better than the first, we’re hold on the new Blood Incantation to close the 356th edition of The Nine Circles Playlist and instead kickoff with new Soilwork, followed close on the heels by the Mastodon-ian machinations of The Electric Mud and the punkish rock of Drug Church, a band I’ve really come to dig but can’t for the life of me remember who turned me on to them.

The rest of the 9C crew is loaded for bear, bringing in music from Qaalm, French Police, Dødheimsgard, Undeath (MONSTER of a record), Observants, and Chained to the Dead. There’s also some non-metal chops courtesy of Yasmin Williams (check that percussive guitar out), and our usual onslaught of sad emo as well as other stuff to get you into the spirit of the thing.
