Well that sure was a nice break. The return to reality, however? Way, way less nice. So what did I miss?

• Let’s start with some… power metal! Frozen Crown announced a new album, which I’m told will be darker, titled The Legend of the Six Kings. That will be out October 2nd through Napalm Records. They also have a loaded tour schedule the rest of the year, including a run supporting Kamelot.
• Holy fuck I’m obsessed with the logo for Grimveil. Their debut is coming on June 5th through Purity Through Fire, an album titled Beneath the Veil of Silent Woods. Give “Into the Depths of Shrouded Pines” a listen now. Aesthetically… I already love everything about this.
• And a Season of Mist offering this evening. Defiled are releasing their ninth album on June 12th titled Altered State, and today they shared a clip for the title track from that effort.
• We end with a new signing for Profound Lore. Lockstep have joined the roster and are releasing their debut LP on July 26th, titled I Know What I Saw. Check out the video for “Ash in the Water” below. They also have dates in August and September if you’re interested.
