Still playing catch up but such is life. It’s death metal week here on Initial Descent. Partly because there’s some incredible death metal to highlight and partly because this is my thing and I can deem it so. All death metal, all the time… or something. Anyway, tech death gets a huge shot in the arm from Psycroptic who utterly destroy the competition on this outing, next up is the ghastly sounds of Fuming Mouth who also lay waste to all comers, then we’ve got Eaten By Sharks who go the way of tech prog and even though that sounds like a big MEH it actually works like gangbusters, and last in the highlight spots is some tasty deathgrind from Mangled Carpenter. Super strong start but as always we’ve got a full listing below and there’s something for every discerning taste so get after it.
