Just over a week ago Jeremiah reviewed Conan‘s latest album Revengeance (here) and last week Napalm Records released the video for “Throne of Fire” which we are all too happy to showcase in this edition of Visions ov Hell. As Jeremiah pointed out, this album marks a step up in songwriting; which is a plus because had they simply made a part two of their last album it would have been heavy and dense but overall nothing new. This track is one of the faster picks, yet still retains all the guts and punch the band is known for. So make your Monday better and dive in.
This is a tale of a higher power (or lower depending on perspective) sending a mammoth force to destroy a planet. We get to see a little backstory on this one particular village that is at ground zero for the imminent destruction. As the beast touches down he begins his destructive path, tearing buildings apart and biting the head off of a terrified woman. Of course the townsfolk try and fight back with arrows that strike their mark but have no effect. The members of the band appear in cloaks (baseball caps give them away) and unleash a swarm of deadly flies that make mince meat out of their victims as well as make friends with the mammoth beast. As the town burns a huge skull ship teleports the beast inside its hull and we are left to assume the group is off to destroy us next.
The animated visuals will absolutely knock your socks off. All the colors are extremely vivid and the artwork is fantastic, just the skulls alone are worth the price of admission. It reminds me of watching the best episode of Metalocalypse in stunning 1080p HD. The epic battle, destruction, blood and dark imagery is the perfect accompaniment to the brute force of the music. If you watch this on a mobile device I highly recommend throwing it over to an HD tv as soon as possible to get the full experience of Riff Lodge Animation‘s work.
So without further ado, go bask in the glory of this epic and fantastic video:
