Throwback Thursday: July 17, 2014

Welcome to Thirstday everyone! For those unaware, this will be my last Throwback until I return beaten and battered from Wacken Open Air 2014. In honor of that (and all other Daily ‘Bangs of mine going forward), this Throwback will be a tribute to a performance I am very much looking forward to in the coming weeks. As I may have mentioned, the mighty Emperor will be playing In The Nightside Eclipse in its entirety at Wacken this year. So let’s take a look back to the last time they graced the fields of Wacken, Germany:

This was performed 8 years ago, back in 2006. And I gotta say, Emperor sound amazing. Absolutely awesome. Needless to say, my excitement level to see ‘I Am The Black Wizards’ and the rest of this album’s tracks in about two weeks is absolutely through the roof. I hope Ihsahn still chooses to rock the shoulder spikes, even if they look relatively ridiculous on him this day and age (DON’T CARE).

For those that want to watch the rest of this performance, and you know you do, you can do so here. I won’t give away the track list, but I will let you know that it is not the same as what’s to come this year. The whole thing is amazing. Just watch it.

Anyway, that will wrap up this week’s Throwback. More Wacken related articles to come. Later, peeps.
