Happy Monday, all. Trust you all had a good weekend, and trust you all are as lukewarm as I am about the whole getting-back-to-work thing this week. Well luckily, we’re right here for ya with another edition of Monday Merriment. This week’s video takes us back to a 2013 episode of America’s Got Talent, where a little girl named Aaralyn and here brother Isaiah made a bit of a splash. Check it out:

(The performance starts at about 1:20, if you don’t want to hear Howard Stern make lame, predictable jokes about how “LOL a six- and nine-year-old haven’t heard of the Partridge Family.)

Disregarding the apparent complete lack of rhythmic ability in Isaiah, the lyrical refrain of “Everyone listen to me / I am a zombie / I’m gonna eat you up right now,” and the fact that the song appears to have no discernible structure, it’s kind of hilarious to see this all unfold. You’ve got an adorable, polite brother and sister who seem like they’re going to feed right into the kind of saccharine-laced performance you’d expect at a talent show, and then Aaralyn (seriously, what on earth is that name?) goes full-on Linda Blair on everyone with “Zombie Skin.” On one of the most blatantly mainstream examples of network TV bullshit, no less.

Props to both of them. Even if the musical ability isn’t quite there yet, they’re still young! It could develop later on. And extra kudos to Howie Mandel for getting on-board with them as well.

Anyway, that’s all I’ve got for now. Enjoy the grind, and check back later on for our Quickies!
