Bleh, that weekend went by all too quickly. Anyway, Metal Monday to you all. I’ve got an unusually busy Monday at the office, so I’m going to keep this post. Which is actually fitting, because the clip I’m about to share is pretty short itself. Like, 15 seconds short. But don’t worry, it packs the laughs into that svelte frame. (Yes, apparently time can be referred to in terms of physical girth. It’s my blog, anyway.)
Regardless, some great human dubbed 15 seconds’ worth of Meshuggah’s “Rational Gaze” over top of last year’s Martin Scorsese/Leonardo DiCaprio film, The Wolf of Wall Street and it is just all kinds of perfect. Check it out:
There are other, longer versions of this mash-up (some as long as 1:43), but none of them really add all that much to the effect. It’s kind of shocking how well Swedish extreme metal and Wall Street greed go together. I only wish the team behind this had been able to re-soundtrack some other scenes of the movie. Think about how well something like Tool would go with Wolf‘s infamous country club scene! Missed opportunity if ever I saw one.
Anyway, that’ll do it for me. Feel merrier, and make sure to check back later for today’s Quickies.
