It’s new release Tuesday, and we’re once again going back through some old releases! Because it’s the end of the year and dammit, we like to play favorites. (Though I can say without question that one of today’s new releases has secured Final Four status in my book. Spoiler Alert?)
Anyway, you know how it works: Corey and I are using this week’s podcast, as well as all of our non-Quickies daily blog posts next week, to recap our favorite albums of 2014. Aside from the Final Four, which we’ll cover in next week’s podcast, none of these will be in any particular order—just a collection of the 25 albums we enjoyed and went back to the most this year. (And yes, once we’re finished, we will put together a recap post with each of our Top 25’s listed out in a more coherent, less roundabout fashion)
So all that said, here’s what we’ll be looking back on this week:
Agalloch – The Serpent and the Sphere
Enthroned – Sovereigns
Saor – Aura
Alraune – The Process of Self-Immolation
Godflesh – A World Lit Only by Fire
YOB – Clearing the Path to Ascend
Since we’re going to have co-host emeritus Kevin Davis back on the pod this week, we’ll also be asking him about some of his favorites from 2014. (He hasn’t yet revealed these to us) Either way, as was the case last week, you’ll probably have already listened to some or all of these, but if there’s anything you’re not familiar with, you know what to do. We’ll be talking about them all at greater length in Episode 32 this Friday, so don’t miss out!
Live. Love. Plow. Horns Up.
