Bleh, Monday. And not just any Monday, but the first Monday back at work after a week off for the holidays. The struggle couldn’t be much realer if it tried right now. Fortunately, we’ve found a little Merriment to ease that headache. Check out this week’s edition—the YouTube video “Metal in Inappropriate Places”—after the jump:
So yeah, I kind of enjoyed this. The musical backdrop isn’t totally my thing—it’s a bit bland, and sounds like kind of a generic, outsider’s-take on the genre to my ears—but some of the settings are hilarious. The idea of plugging in and shredding in the middle of a library is chuckle-worthy, and the way the music fades in and out as the guy goes back and forth on the playground swings later on is an even better touch. Best, though, are the parts in the dentist’s chair—I kind of like the idea of giving zero fucks and rocking out during a root canal.
Anyway, give it a watch and maybe your Monday will be all the better for it, too. Or maybe not, and you’ll just hate us. I dunno. Either way, if it’s not your thing, check out some of Rob Scallon’s other videos—he’s the guy who did all of the hilarious banjo and ukelele covers of Slayer songs, among other things, so there’s sure to be something else you’ll enjoy. So yeah, go ahead and enjoy it.
